1 - Bolt.
q   Different versions available
q   Assignment → Electronic parts catalogue „ETKA“
  WARNING
t  There are two versions of the twelve-point head bolt, with and without ribbing. Distinguishing feature → Fig..
t  When installing a twelve-point head bolt, always note which version is being installed.
t  The respective specified torque must also be used.
t  The specified torque for twelve-point head bolts »without« ribbing is 70 Nm + 90° when loosening and tightening → Chapter.
t  The specified torque for twelve-point head bolts »without« ribbing is 200 Nm + 180° when loosening and tightening → Chapter.
q   Always renew if removed
2 - Outer constant velocity joint
q   Always replace completely
q   Removing → Anchor
q   Installing: slide onto the half shaft to the limit by tapping with a plastic mallet
q   check → Chapter
3 - Circlip
q   Always renew if removed
q   Insert in groove in shaft
4 - Clamp
q   Always renew if removed
q   Tightening → Fig.
5 - Boot
q   Check for splits and chafing
q   Material: Hytrel (polyelastomer)
6 - Clamp
q   Always renew if removed
q   Tightening → Fig.
7 - Drive shaft
8 - Clamp
q   Always renew if removed
q   Tightening → Fig.
9 - Dustguard for constant velocity joint
q   Material: Hytrel (polyelastomer)
q   Without breather hole
q   Check for splits and chafing
q   Drive off constant velocity joint with a drift
q   Coat sealing surface of constant velocity joint with -D 454 300 A2- before installing.
10 - Clamp
q   Always renew if removed
q   Tightening → Fig.
11 - Locking plate
12 - Cap
q   Drive off carefully with drift
q   Coat sealing surface of constant velocity joint with -D 454 300 A2- before installing.
q   Adhesive surface must be free of oil and grease!
13 - Inner constant velocity joint
q   Always replace completely
q   Pressing off → Fig.
q   Pressing on → Fig.
q   check → Chapter
14 - Circlip
q   Remove and install with circlip pliers -VW 161 A-.
15 - Cap
q   Always renew if removed
q   Always replace.
q   Pressing off → Fig.
16 - Multi-point socket head bolt
q   M10 x 52
q   Pre-tighten diagonally to 10 Nm and then tighten completely diagonally to the respective tightening torque.
q   70 Nm
q   Always renew bolts after removing

   
Distinguishing features between twelve-point head bolt with ribbing and twelve-point head bolt without ribbing.
The twelve-point head bolts can be distinguished by the contact surfaces -arrow A- and -arrow B-.
