| Remove any corrosion on the thread of the outer joint before the nut is screwed on. |

| Replace the twelve-sided nut. |
Note | The wheels must not make contact with the floor when tightening the driveshaft as the wheel bearing could be damaged. |

| Apply brake (a second mechanic is required). |

| First pre-tighten the twelve-sided nut to a torque of 50 Nm. |

| Rest the vehicle on its wheels. |
| –
| Re-tighten the twelve-sided nut 45º. |
