Fitting
Fitting

–  Fit the ball hub on both bevels in the ball cage. The installation position is arbitrary. Press on the balls so that they are pushed into place in the cage.
–  Fit the hub with the cage and the balls vertically in the joint casing.
  V40-0011
t  When fitting it, check that the longer distance -a- of the casing coincides with the shorter distance -b- of the hub after fitting it.
t  The bevel of the interior diameter of the ball hub (cogged) must face the large diameter of the casing.
  V40-0012
–  Insert the ball hub. To do so, pull it out from the cage -arrows- until the balls coincide with the friction tracks.
  V40-0013
–  Press hard on the cage -arrow- to insert the ball hub.
Check the operation of the constant velocity joint:
The constant velocity joint is correctly fitted if the ball hub can be moved by hand, from one side to the other in the full range of the joint compensation.
