Removal
Removal
Only a minimal pressure can be put on the wheel bearings when the dodecagonal nut is loosened.
The bearings will be damaged if the weight of the vehicle is excessive and will have a reduced useful life as a consequence.
If the vehicle has to be moved when the articulated half-shaft has been removed, an exterior articulation must be fitted instead of the half-shaft and tightened to 50 Nm to avoid damage to the wheel bearing.
–  Raise the vehicle until the front axle is free of weight.
–  Loosen the dodecagonal nut of the half-shaft.
–  Remove the deflector from the swinging arm.
–  Unscrew the half-shaft from the flanged shaft of the gearbox.
–  Mark the installation position of the ball joint bolts to the swinging arm.

–  Screw out bolts -arrows-.

  Note
When the articulated half shaft is being removed, enough space must remain between the half shaft and the parts around it.

–  Remove the half shafts.
