Installing > < Removing and installing anti-roll bar

  Note
t  Before beginning the removal of the subframe, ensure that the ignition key is not inserted in the ignition lock.
t  Before beginning removal of the stabilizer bar, the installation position of the strut on the bodywork must be secured using the fastening devices -T10096- for subsequent fitting → Chapter.
t  The fastening devices -T10096- should only be tightened to a maximum of 20 Nm, otherwise the thread of the fastening bolt may be damaged.
–  Remove the front wheels → Chapter.
–  Remove the lower sound insulation element → Rep. gr.50 .
   
–  Remove hexagon nut -1- from coupling rod (left and right sides).
–  Pull out coupling rod -3- from anti-roll bar -2- on left and right-hand side.
–  Turn anti-roll bar upwards.

–  Remove the steering box from the subframe -arrows- and secure accordingly.
–  Locating subframe in position → Chapter.

–  Lower subframe using engine and gearbox jack -V.A.G 1383 A- until anti-roll bar -1- can be guided past drive shafts.
–  Remove bolts -arrows-.
–  Remove anti-roll bar -1- backwards.
