  Note
t  If it is necessary to move the vehicle with any part of the running gear dismounted, the trolley -T20204- → Anchor.should be used.
t  It is not permitted to weld or straighten load-bearing or wheel-guiding components of the suspension.
t  Always renew self locking nuts and bolts.
t  Always renew corroded nuts and bolts
   
1 - Drive shaft
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
2 - Suspension strut
q   removing and fitting → Chapter
3 - Nut
q   Tightening torque → Anchor
q   Self-locking
q   Replace after each removal
4 - Multi-point socket head bolt
q   Fixing point (holes) point in direction of travel
q   replace
5 - Hexagon socket head bolt
q   For revolution sensor
q   Tightening torque → Anchor
6 - Front left speed sensor -G47 - / front right speed sensor -G45-
q   This may be checked with the → guided fault location of the → Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051
q   Before inserting the sensor, clean the inner surface of the hole and apply lubricant paste → Parts catalogue
7 - Nut
q   Tightening torque → Anchor
q   Self-locking
q   Replace after each removal
8 - Hexagonal bolt
q   Tightening torque → Anchor
9 - Protective plate
10 - Track rod ball joint
11 - Conical hexagon bolt
q   When tightening and loosening the nut, the vehicle must not rest on its wheels.
q   Black colour for the 13" running gear
q   Silver colour for the 14" and 15" running gear
q   Tightening torques → Anchor
q   Replace after each removal
12 - Bolt
q   Tightening torque: 4 Nm
13 - Ventilated brake disc
14 - Wheel hub and bearing assembly
q   The ABS sensor ring is fitted in the wheel bearing and cannot be replaced separately
q   The wheel hub and bearing assembly generate a unit. They are maintenance free and do not have any play. Adjustments and repairs are not possible!
q   Always renew; is destroyed when pulled out.

q   When the stub axle is replaced, the vehicle must be aligned → Chapter.
