For connection, the operations are carried out in reverse order, taking the following into account.
   
To tighten the rear axle attachment bolts to the vehicle bodywork, it must be resting on its wheels and the distance between the centre of the wheel and the lower edge of the wheel housing-distance-should be the specified according to the type of running gear. → Chapter
If the bolts are not tightened under these conditions, great pressure will be put on the bonded rubber bushes reducing their useful life.

Rear axle / shock absorber installation angle for tightening the screws
1  - shock absorber
α  - 95°
–  Bleed brake system: → Rep. Gr.47 .
–  Adjusting handbrake: → Rep. Gr.46 .
–  For those vehicles with gas discharge headlights, check the adjustment of the Rear left hand side vehicle level sender -G76 -: → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051Checking:
–  Following installation, a test drive must be made to verify the position of the steering wheel and the wheel geometry; if necessary, a geometric adjustment of the wheels must be made → Chapter.

Attachment of rear axle to the bonded rubber bush bracket
Always replace the nut and bolt!
45 Nm + further 1/4 (90°)
Attachment of shock absorber to the rear axle
Always replace the nut and bolt!
40 Nm + 1/4 (90º)
Attachment of braking force regulator to the rear axle16 Nm
Attachment of vehicle level sender rod to the rear axle16 Nm
Attachment of link rod to vehicle level sender rod5 Nm
Brake line connections14 Nm
Wheel bolts120 Nm
