Positioning the support for the foot brake will avoid drainage of the braking system and the ABS hydraulic unit.

Release hand brake.

Loosen the adjustment nuts -arrows- enough to release the brake cables from the compensation stirrup.

Raise the vehicle.
–
Remove wheels.
Note
Before removal of the rear axle of the vehicle, the vehicle must be attached to the elevation platform arms using the tool -T10038-. Otherwise, there is a danger that the vehicle will tip over.

Pull out the covers of the longitudinal member and insert the attachment tool -T10038-.

Attach both sides of the vehicle using the attachment tool.
Vehicles equipped with ABS
–
Pull out the connections of the ABS sensor -1-.
–
Disconnect the cable support form the revolution sensors -arrow-.
Vehicles with brake regulator
–
Remove bolts -1- and -2- securing the brake regulator and spring to the bodywork (only for vehicles without ABS).
–
Position the hydraulic elevator -SAT 1040-with the tool -T20145-,and the attachment tool -T20161-underneath the body of the rear axle.
All vehicles (continued)

Detach the brake lines -arrow A- .
–
Remove the flexible brake tube from the rear axle support
–
Release the hand brake cables from the supports -arrow B- and -arrow C-.
–
Extract the handbrake cables from the gain by pulling gently.
–
Release the bolts -1- fastening the rear bridge to the body.
–
Remove the bolts securing the rear axle to the shock absorber-arrow-.
–
Carefully lower the rear axle using the hydraulic jack-SAT 1040-.
Note
Secure the axle while lowering it using a strap or with the help of a second mechanic.
