Renewing bonded rubber bush for wheel bearing housing

Special tools and workshop equipment required

t	attachment tool -3346-

t	attachment tool -3350-

t	Fitting sleeves -3378-

t	Actuating arm -3390-

t	Torque wrench -V.A.G 1332-

Carry out the following work: removing –  Loosen wheel bolts. –  Raise the vehicle. –  Remove wheel. –  Remove coil spring → Chapter. –  Remove wheel bearing unit → Chapter –  Take off cover.

–  Unscrew bolt -arrow- for lower transverse link -1-. Pressing out bonded rubber bush

–  Position tools as shown in figure. 1 -  Nut -3346/3- 2 -  Actuating arm -3390- 3 -  Thrust piece -3350- 4 -  Nut (commercially available type) 5 -  Spindles -3346/2- –  Pull out bonded rubber bush by turning spindle. Installation Installing bonded rubber bush

–  Position tools as shown in figure. 1 -  Nut -3346/3- 2 -  Thrust piece -3346- 3 -  Bonded rubber bush 4 -  Fitting sleeves -3378- 5 -  Nut (commercially available type) 6 -  Spindles -3346/2- –  Pull in bonded rubber bush by turning spindle.   Note t  Do not use lubricant. t  Insert bearing carefully so it does not cant. –  Fit cover plate. –  Install wheel bearing unit → Chapter. Bolt connections on wheel bearing housing may only be tightened when dimension „a“ has been obtained → Fig..

–  Tighten bolt -arrow- for lower transverse link -1-. –  Install coil spring → Chapter. –  Install brake disc. –  Attach brake carrier with brake caliper → Brake systems; Rep. gr.46. –  Fit and secure wheel.

Splash plate to wheel bearing housing	12 Nm
Brake disc to wheel bearing housing	4 Nm
