Steering column, steering mount: assembly overview
  Note
t  No welding or straightening work is allowed on the elements of the steering system.
t  Always replace any self-locking nuts and bolts.
t  Always replace corroded bolts/nuts.
Remove and fit the steering column with the steering mount → Chapter.
Dismantle and assemble the steering mount and the steering column → Chapter
1 - Support
2 - Pressure ring
q   With washer incorporated
3 - Steering lock housing
q   Removal and fitting the lock cylinder: →  electrical system; Rep. Gr.94
4 - Combination switch in steering column
q   Repairs: → electrical system; Rep. Gr.94
5 - Upper pressure spring
6 - Multiple cog adapter socket
q   Releasing → Chapter
q   Insertion → Anchor
7 - Hexagonal collar nut
q   50 Nm
8 - Rupture bolt
q   Tighten until the head is cut
q   For removal, drill.
  WARNING
Use protection glasses
9 - Steering column, upper part
q   With steering lock auto lock: this cannot be disassembled
q   Above a torque of 100 Nm on the steering wheel, the steering column will turn with the steering wheel without damaging the locking pin

q   Before fitting, cover the sliding side surfaces with MoS2.

13 - Hexagonal nut
q   Left hand side thread
q   8 Nm
14 - Hexagonal nut
q   6 Nm
15 - Securing bolt
q   Left hand side thread
q   22...24 Nm
16 - Thrust rod
17 - Bolt
18 - Washer
19 - Intermediate plate
20 - Steering mount
21 - Operation lever
22 - Pressure spring
23 - Support tool .
24 - Assembly point
25 - Security spring
26 - Lower part of column/axle articulation
27 - Nut with retainer
q   Remove the articulation cage and replace the nut
q   Do not reuse the cage
q   Use a self locking nut
28 - Hexagon head bolt
q   25 Nm
29 - Lower bearing for the steering column
q   Detach the steering mount → Chapter
q   Insert using a plastic mallet
30 - Bracket
31 - Hexagonal nut
q   6 Nm
