Removing –  Remove the air filter → Rep. Gr.24

–  Fit the support stand -U-30025E-.   Note Before fitting the reception hooks of the tool, the hose connections and cables in the area of the lifting eyes of the engine tackle must be removed so as not to damage them. –  Tighten the drive train using the spindles.

–  Extract the bolt -1-from the engine console on the right hand side subframe. Before, if fitted, remove the securing plate -A- from the connector. –  Extract the bolt on the left hand side gearbox bracket. –  Remove wheel. –  Raise the vehicle. –  Extract the self locking nut securing the ball joint of the steering bar to the bearing housing.

–  Use the extractor -T20147- to take out the steering rod ball joint from the wheel bearing housing. –  Remove the hood from its seat on the steering box.

–  Remove the bolt -1- from the joint.

–  Loosen the hoses from the power steering box, cover them with a plastic bag and adhesive tape. –  Close the screw holes for the power steering transmission using plastic seal screws. 1 -  Hollow nut (spanner size 19). 2 -  Adaptable tool (commercial use) for diesel vehicles –  Pull out the flexible tubes/tube support.

–  Release the bolts -1- securing the steering housing to the subframe and attach it to the body of the car. –  Release the subframe, the gearbox bracket, the power steering intake and pressure pipes. –  Extract the two bolts from the rear securing the front axle to the bodywork -2-.

–  Fit the guides -T20163A- in the bolt positions. –  Fit the hydraulic jack -SAT 1040- under the subframe with the base -T20145- and the support -T20161-. –  Extract the bolts -2- and -3- securing the subframe to the bodywork.   Note Attention: the steering gear will be released downwards from the subframe.

–  Lower the subframe with the hydraulic jack -SAT 1040- with the base -T20145- and the support -T20161-. –  Remove the power steering, from the articulated steering shaft and take out sideways.
