Steering wheel rotation left and right limits: verification
Steering wheel rotation left and right limits: verification
This test only needs to be done when:
t  The turning angle for one side is different from that of the other
t  The maximum turn for each side are not the same,
t  The tyres on one side scrape the components of the front axle or the bodywork when the steering wheel is turned all the way to the limit.
Special tools and workshop equipment required

t  Torque wrench -SAT 8010-
  W00-2760
t  Gear fork spanner -SAT 8010/34A-
Test sequence
  L00-10209
The distance between the subframe and the tyres -arrow- should be the same with the wheel turned to its maximum.
If the distance on both sides is not equal, it may be corrected by rotating the track rods to the left and right.
Example:
The left side turning limit is less than the right hand side limit
  N44-0018
–  Release the counternut -1- from the steering bar.
–  Rotate the left track rod (unscrew from the head of the track rod).
–  Rotate the right track rod by the same amount but in the opposite direction (screw into the head of the track rod).
For this, a socket wrench may be fitted to the hexagonal section -arrow- of the steering bar.
Ensure that, after the rotation of the steering bar, the dust covers are not twisted!
Twisted dust guards will deteriorate rapidly.
–  Check and, if necessary, correct the total convergence.
–  Tighten the counter nuts.
Tightening torque: 50 Nm.
