Deactivating electronic anti-theft system
Reactivating the system is only possible by entering the correct electronic anti-theft alarm code number.
  Note!
t  The code number for the electronic anti-theft system is affixed to the radio card, together with the unit number, → Operating instructions.
t  The radio card should not be kept in the vehicle for security reasons. Obtain code number for unit.
t  If a radio unit is renewed, the code number of the replacement radio must be used.
t  The customer must be informed that the code number has changed.
–  Obtain the unit's code number.
–  Switch radio/navigation system on.
The word “SAFE” appears in the display. “CODE ENTRY” appears above.
“SAFE” then disappears and the “1000” numerical series is shown.
–  Use station buttons 1 to 4 to enter the code number adhered to the radio navigation system card. Use the first button to enter the first code number, the second button to enter the second code number and so on.
–  Confirm the code by pressing the right-hand rotary/press button.
The unit will be released and is ready for use.
If the code number has been entered correctly into the radio navigation system, the light emitting diode located on the top right of the unit will flash when the ignition key is removed. If the diode flashes the radio navigation system is ready for operation and the electronic anti-theft coding is active.
  Note!
Entering the 1st number overwrites the row of figures “1000”.
If an incorrect code number accidentally is entered to undo the lock, “1st ATTEMPT FAILED” appears in the display. At this time, you can repeat the process (once only) to undo the electronic lock.
If an incorrect code number is entered again, “LOCK ACTIVE FOR 1 HOUR” appears in the display and the unit is locked for 60 minutes.
A further attempt to release the electric lock is only possible after the locking period has elapsed.
During the locking period, the unit must remain switched on and the ignition key must remain in the ignition lock.
After the locking period has elapsed, the number of attempts in the display is erased and the electronic lock can be released as described.
