t  SAT 8010
  Note
t  Never use rust dissolvers, contact sprays or grease etc. as an excessive tightening torque will be used when tightening due to the lack of thread grip, which may lead to a broken screw connection.
t  The grey sanding pads are used to treat lightly soiled areas and "soft surfaces". The red sanding pads are used to treat heavily soiled areas and "hard surfaces".
  WARNING
Injury risk! Observe safety precautions → Chapter.
–  Disconnect battery.
  W00-2760
–  Loosen domed nut and remove the lug from the bolted connection.
–  Check the screw connection for rust and contamination etc.
–  Select the correct adapter and sanding pad for the screw connection.
  Caution
Makes sure that the zinc plating is not worn down too greatly so that the copper becomes visible. This can lead to a galvanised component that destroys the metal, rendering any repair work impractical.
  Note
Due to the strength of the galvanising layers, cleaning must be carried out in several stages with intermediate visual inspections of the cable lug.

–  Attach the adapter to the screw connection and remove the rust and contamination with circular movements.
–  Check the screw connection and rework if necessary.
–  Tighten the screw connection and if necessary retighten the connection to the prescribed tightening torque, → Current flow diagrams, Electrical fault finding and Fitting locations
  Note
For optimum contact, the elements must be tightened to the correct tightening torque after cleaning.
–  Treat the screw connection using a suitable preservative.
–  Reconnect the battery.
  WARNING
Injury risk! Remember warnings and safety instructions .
–  Initialise the electric window, enter the radio code, set the time and if necessary, recode any control units registering a fault.
