Checking fuel gauge senderG.
Checking fuel gauge sender -G-.
  Note!
t  Before commencing with check ensure that the fuel gauge sender -G- is correctly installed → Rep. Gr.20.
t  If the fuel gauge has not been adapted the control unit with display in dash panel insert -J285- recognises the sender resistance in range: 59 Ω to 78 Ω as “full” and 341 Ω to 360 Ω as “empty”.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Pull connector off fuel gauge sender -G-.
–  Connect ohmmeter to contacts of fuel gauge sender.
–  Empty fuel tank until the vehicles own fuel pump no longer delivers fuel (use fuel extraction unit -V.A.G 1433 A-).
–  Fill fuel tank with 8 litres of fuel
With 8 litres of fuel in tank the fuel gauge sender fuel gauge sender -G- should have a resistance of 310 Ω ± 4 Ω.
If the deviation is more than 20 Ω renew the fuel gauge sender -G-.
