–  Initiate self-diagnosis of dash panel insert → Chapter.
   
Indicated on display:
–  Press keys 0 and 7. (07 selects the function “Code control unit”).

–  Enter code number with keys according to the test tables for manual gearbox or automatic gearbox.
  Note!
If a code number greater than 00126 is entered and confirmed with Q key, an adaption of the control unit will take place.

Correction of entry possible with C key.
The distance impulse number is a constant, engine specific specified value, with which the distance impulses for the distance travelled can be calculated, e.g.: distance impulse number (from table) x distance travelled = 3440 x 0.5 km = 1720 distance impulses
If the distance impulse number does not correspond to the engine/gearbox combination fitted to vehicle, the distance travelled will be incorrectly calculated.
Example:
If the vehicle is fitted with a 6-cylinder engine, manual gearbox and ABS.
The new dash panel insert receives a coding 00126 from the test table for a vehicle fitted with a manual gearbox.
–  Confirm entry with Q key.
