Activation of the electronic anti-theft function
Activation of the electronic anti-theft function
In new radios the electronic anti-theft function is not activated.
To activate the electronic anti-theft function, enter the corresponding code.
  Note
t  Every radio has its own unique code.
t  If a radio unit is replaced the code number must be the one of the new unit.
t  Notify the client that the number has changed.
–  Turn on the radio.
–  Press “PTY” key until “PROGRAM” appears on the display. Release the keys.
–  Select function “PCODE” with keys “<”and“>”.
–  Briefly press the key “PTY”. “P1000” is indicated on the display.
–  Input the numeric code appearing on the radio card using the tuning buttons “1” to “4”. With the button “1” the first digit of the code is input, with the button “2” the second code digit is input and so on.
–  Confirm the input code using the button “PTY” until there is a confirmation signal. “PSAFE” is indicated on the display. Now the radio should work.
–  Keep the “PTY” key pressed until the display shows information corresponding to the current functioning mode (radio, cassette or CD) again.
  Note
t  If the wrong code is entered on unlocking, “PSAFE” will appear on the display.
t  In this case, the radio will continue to function but it has been locked.
The unit is ready to work.
If the code entered in the radio unit is correct, the upper right LED of the radio should blink when removing the ignition key. If the LED blinks, the radio system is ready for use and the anti-theft code is activated.
  Note
After entering the first digit the “1000” display is overwritten.
If an incorrect code is entered when unlocking, the message “1 2000” appears on the display.
It is now possible to repeat the electronic unlocking process.
If an incorrect code is entered again, the message “2 SAFE” appears on the display, and the unit will be blocked for 60 minutes.
Further attempts to electronically unblock the unit are only possible after the above-mentioned period.
While the unit is blocked, it must be on and the ignition key should be inserted in the ignition lock.
After the waiting time has passed, the indication of the attempts disappears from the display and the electronic locking can be unlocked using the aforementioned method.
  Note
t  If during the “first activation” of the electronic anti-theft function, a wrong code is entered twice, the radio system will be blocked for one hour.
t  To unblock the radio → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051.
t  This may only be done in the “first” activation of the electronic anti-theft function of the radio system.
