Checking the coolant system for leaktightness > < Removing and installing radiator
Removing and installing coolant pump
Removing and installing coolant pump
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Supporting device -MP9-200-
t  Catch pan, e.g. -VAS 6208-
Removing
–  Drain coolant → Chapter.
   
–  Remove engine cover → Chapter.

–  Install the supporting device -MP9-200- and slightly raise the engine with the gearbox.

–  Remove engine mounting -1-.
   To this end release bolts -2- and -3-.
–  Only loosen the screws for the belt pulley of the coolant pump.
   The screws must be located at the top, if necessary turn the crankshaft.
–  Remove V-ribbed belt → Chapter.
–  Unscrew front and rear coolant pipe from cylinder block.
–  Release clamp on the coolant pump and disconnect coolant hose.
–  Remove belt pulley for control pump.
–  Unscrew coolant pump.
Install
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following:
–  Replace seal for coolant pump.
–  First install the V-ribbed belt → Chapter, then tighten the bolts for the belt pulley of the coolant pump.
   Tightening torque: 10 Nm
–  Tightening torques of the engine mount → Chapter.
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
