Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Assembly device -MP6-401/1-
t  Supporting device -MP9-200-
t  Two-arm extractor -Kukko 20-10-
t  Removal hooks -T10040/1-
t  Thrust piece -T10041-
t  Flywheel lock -MP1-504 -
t  Duty screws M6 x 40 (category 8.8) with a 60° point adapted to the screw end (locking screw)
t  Nut M6 (counternut)
Removing
–  Remove engine cover → Chapter.
   
–  Mount supporting device -MP9-200- and take up the weight of the engine/gearbox assembly at the spindles.
  S34-0335
–  Unscrew bolts -2-.
–  Remove right wheelhouse liner.
  S10-0140
–  Remove noise insulation -arrows-.
–  Lower engine approximately 50 mm.
–  Remove V-ribbed belt → Chapter.
  S10-0135
–  To lock the crankshaft remove the engine speed sender and screw in the locking screw -1- instead.
–  Slightly rotate the crankshaft on the central screw until the locking screw can be fully tightened (screw tip locks into the tooth opening of the starter ring gear).
–  Tighten up the screw and secure in place with the counternut -2-.
  Note
If the engine has been removed use a flywheel lock -MP1-504- to lock the crankshaft.
–  Remove the central screw and belt pulley - crankshaft.
  S13-0173
–  Pull out gasket ring with two-arm extractor -A-, e.g. Kukko -20-10-, extraction hook -T10040/1 - and assembly device -MP6-401/1-.
Install
l  Crankshaft is locked with flywheel lock -MP1-504 -, or locking bolt.
–  Lightly oil the sealing lip of the gasket ring.
  S13-0175
–  Press down gasket ring with pressure plate -T10041- up to the bushing stop.
  Note
Use to press in the central screw.
–  Install crankshaft belt pulley.
–  Tighten central screw to 100 Nm.
–  Release locking screw and re-install engine speed sender.
   Tightening torque: 10 Nm
  Note
Do not start engine as long as the locking screw is located in the gearbox housing!
–  Install the V-ribbed belt → Chapter.
–  Install pendulum support and attach engine mount → Chapter.
–  Attach the double clamp of the exhaust system → Chapter.
