Checking voltage supply > < Testing the resistance of the solenoid valve

Test control
–  Connect the diode test lamp between the contacts of the 2-pin plug of the activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80- on the cable harness.
–  Initiate an actuator diagnosis and select the activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80- → Chapter.
The diode test lamp must flash.
If the dioden test lamp does not flash or if it remains lit:
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Connect the test box - V.A.G 1598/31- or -V.A.G 1598/22 - to the wiring loom of the engine control unit → Chapter.
–  Test the wire from contact 2 of the plug on the activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80- to the engine control unit for continuity as well as short-circuit to earth or positive according to the current flow diagram → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
If there is neither a line interruption nor a short-circuit:
–  Replace engine control unit → Chapter.
