Engines with engine identification characters BUD
Engines with engine identification characters BUD
With the actuator diagnosis the following parts are activated in the sequence indicated:
1. Activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80-
2. Main relay for electric drive - J437-
3. Fuel pump relay -J17-
4. Injection valve for cylinder 1 -N30-
5. Injection valve for cylinder 2 -N31-
6. Injection valve for cylinder 3 -N32-
7. Injection valve for cylinder 4 -N33-
Procedure
–  Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552-. Switch ignition on and select address word 01 “Engine electronics” → Chapter.
–  Select function 03 “final control diagnosis”.
   
Readout on display:
Activate solenoid valve 1 for activated charcoal filter system -N80-:
–  Press → key.

03-Actuator diagnosis
Readout on display:
The solenoid valve (in the bracket on the intake manifold) must continue clicking until the next control element is actuated by pressing the → key.
–  Detach hose from the activated charcoal filter at the solenoid valve.
–  Fit auxiliary hose onto the free connection of the valve.
–  Blow into the auxiliary hose during the final control diagnosis (in the direction of the throttle valve control unit). The valve must open and close.
If the solenoid valve does not click:
–  Testing activated charcoal filter system solenoid valve 1 -N80- → Chapter
Actuate main relay for electric drive -J437-
–  Press → key.

Sol.valve 1 for act. char.filter -N80
Readout on display:
The main relay for the electric drive (on the relay plate under the steering wheel) must be activated and deactivated until the next control element is actuated by pressing the → key.
If the relay does not click:
–  Select function 06 “End output” and switch ignition off.
–  Check main relay for electric drive -J437- → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
Activate fuel pump relay -J17-:
–  Press → key.

Readout on display:
The fuel pump relay (on the relay plate) must be activated and deactivated until the next control element is actuated by pressing the → key.
  Note
During activation of the fuel pump relay the fuel pump should also be heard to run at intervals.
If the relay does not click:
–  Select function 06 “End output” and switch ignition off.
–  Testing fuel pump relay → Current flow diagrams and Fitting locations.
Actuate injection valves:
–  Press → key.
  
Actuator diagnosis                ->
Fuel pump relay-J17
Readout on display:
Injection valve for cylinder 1 clicks a few times.
–  If it should be switched over to the following injection valve, press the key →. (Switching over can also be performed without testing the relevant valve).
–  Test all the injection valves one after the other in this way.
If one of the injection valves is not actuated (does not click):
–  Testing injection valve → Chapter.
–  Press → key.

Readout on display:
–  End output and switch off ignition.
