Removing and installing bracket Special tools and workshop equipment required t  Pliers -T10005- Removing –  Disconnect the earth strap from the battery with the ignition off. –  Remove air filter → Engine → Rep. Gr.23 or → Engine → Rep. Gr.24.

–  Detach the bracket for the wiring loom in the -direction of the arrow- from the body. –  Then carefully pull the wiring loom forward. –  Place a non-fluffing cloth under the master cylinder.   Note When working in the footwell, protect the floor covering with cloths from escaping brake fluid.

–  Disconnect the return hose -A- to the brake fluid reservoir with the hose clamp -MP7-602- and detach from the master cylinder. –  Pull retaining clip -B- for tube-hose line out of the master cylinder up to the stop. –  Release and cut the tube-hose line -C- out of the master cylinder. –  Removing bottom part of the dash panel → Body work → Rep. Gr.70. –  Remove clutch pedal switch -F36- → Item.   Note t  The bracket for clutch pedal is removed together with the master cylinder. t  Before removing first separate the master cylinder from the clutch pedal.

Unlock the actuating rod/master cylinder from the clutch pedal as follows: –  Pull clutch pedal slightly into the passenger compartment. –  Press both sides of the support inwards using the pliers -T10005 --arrows-

–  Unscrew the nuts -arrows 1- and remove the bracket -arrow A- together with the master cylinder. Install Installation is performed in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following points:

–  The support -A- must be located on the actuating rod -B- of the master cylinder. –  Press the clutch pedal until its locks in direction of arrow and make sure it catches correctly. –  Bleed the clutch system → Chapter. –  Install air filter → Engine → Rep. Gr.23 or → Engine → Rep. Gr.24. –  Installing the clutch pedal switch → Item. –  Installing bottom part of dash panel → Body Work → Rep. Gr.70.
