Removing and installing airbag system control unit
Removing and installing airbag system control unit
  WARNING
Safety measures should be observed when handling the airbag units → Chapter.
Removing:
  Note
Disconnect battery earth strap → Electrical System → Rep. gr.27.
–  Removing the centre console → Chapter.
   
–  Disconnect the plug fuse -2- in the -direction of the arrow- and remove the plug -3- from the control unit -1-.
–  Remove nuts -4- (9 Nm) and take out the control unit -1-.
Installing:
–  Installation is carried out in the reverse order; pay attention to the following points:

t  The control unit must be newly coded when replacing the control unit for the airbag system → Vehicle diagnostic tester.
t  Pay attention to the sequence when connecting the battery → Electrical System → Rep. gr.27.
