Removing and installing the foot controls - up to MY 2010 > < Setting, removing and installing the brake light switchF and brake pedal switchF47 up to MY 2010

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Release tool -T10159A-
Separating the brake pedal from the brake servo unit
–  Remove the storage area on the driver's side → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove brake light switch → Chapter.
  Note
The fig. shows the separation of the brake pedal from the brake servo unit with the foot controls removed for clarity.
   
–  Press brake pedal -1- towards the brake servo unit and hold in position.
–  Insert release tool -T10159A- and pull towards the driver's seat while counterholding the brake pedal. (At this moment the pedal must not move backwards.)
   This causes the retaining lugs -3- of the support to be pressed off the spherical head of the push rod -2-.
–  Pull the release tool and brake pedal jointly towards the driver's seat. (This causes the brake pedal to be drawn off the ball knob of the pressure rod).
Clipping the brake pedal onto the brake servo unit
  S46-0178
–  Hold the spherical head of the pressure rod -2- in front of the support and press the brake pedal -1- towards the brake servo unit so that the spherical head locks audibly into place.
3 - Bearing bracket
–  Setting and installing the brake light switch → Chapter
–  Install the storage area on the driver's side → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Inspecting proper operation of the brake light → Chapter.
