Removing and installing exhaust gas recirculation valve N18 with EGR potentiometer G212 and EGR control motor V338 for engine with identification characters BLS (Fabia II, Roomster)
Removing and installing exhaust gas recirculation valve -N18- with EGR potentiometer -G212- and EGR control motor -V338- for engine with identification characters BLS (Fabia II, Roomster)
Removing
   
–  Lift the engine cover at the sides -arrows A- and pull out towards the front -arrow B-.

–  Remove charge-air pipe at the top -1- with connecting hose -2--arrows-.
–  Remove cylinder head cover Fabia II → Chapter, Roomster → Chapter.
–  Remove intake manifold flap motor -V157- → Chapter.
–  Unscrew bracket with pressure sensor 1 for exhaust gas -G450-.
–  Unscrew the screws of the connection pipe for exhaust gas recirculation from the inlet connection.
–  Remove induction pipe with EGR valve -N18-, EGR potentiometer -G212- and EGR control motor -V338-.
Install
  Note
t  Replace the gaskets and the self-locking nuts.
t  Secure all hose connections with corresponding hose clips.
t  All cable straps which are detached when removing, should be attached again in the same place when installing.
Installation is carried out in the reverse order.
–  Observe the assembly instruction for hose connections with push-fit couplings → Chapter.
–  After replacing, adapt new part as follows:
–  Switch ignition on and off; then wait 1 minute for the afterrun of the control units.
–  Start engine and run in idle for at least 1 minute.
–  Interrogate fault memory → Vehicle diagnosis, testing and information system VAS 5051, no fault should be stored in the fault memory.
–  If a fault occurs, erase the fault memory and repeat the entire work procedure.
