Replacing middle or rear part of exhaust system
Replacing middle or rear part of exhaust system
t  A separation point is provided for repair purposes for replacing the middle part or the rear part of the exhaust system.
t  The separation point is marked by indentation on the circumference of the exhaust pipe.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Body saw e.g. V.A.G 1523
t  Protective goggles
  WARNING
Wear safety goggles.
   
–  Separate exhaust pipe at right angles at the separation point -arrow 2-.
–  When installing, position double clamp -4- between the side markings -arrow 1- and -arrow 3-.
–  Install double clamps in such a way that the ends of the screws do not protrude beyond the bottom edge of the double clamp.
–  Align exhaust system in cold condition free of stress → Chapter.
