Removing and installing ATF radiator > < Drain ATF

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  ATF filling system -V.A.G 1924-
t  Adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262-
t  Adapter for ATF oil filling -VAS 6262/2-
t  Protective goggles
  Note
t  Pay attention to all the notes and test conditions → Anchor.
   
t  The ATF filler tube is no longer available on gearboxes as of production date 06.06 -arrow-.
For gearbox with filler tube (only vehicles Octavia II up to 05.06)
  N37-10325
–  Lever off cap -arrow- securing the screw plug with a screwdriver.
  Note
The filler tube is located at the front of the gearbox under the starter.
–  Always replace the cap, because the cap catch is destroyed → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.
–  Pull off screw plug from the filler tube.
  S37-0205
–  Hook the hook of the ATF filling system -V.A.G 1924- into the opening of the filler tube.
–  Pour in 4 liters of ATF with ATF filling system -V.A.G 1924-.
For gearbox without filler tube (vehicles up as of 06.06)
  S37-0207
–  Screw in the adapter for ATF oil filling -VAS 6262/2- by hand in the location of the gearbox inspection plug -arrow 1- and connect adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262- or -VAS 6262 A-.
–  Shake the ATF reservoir before opening.
  Note
Before screwing in the adapter for oil filling at the ATF reservoir, check the length of the vent pipe and shorten if necessary → Anchor.
  S37-0218
–  Fill with 3 litres of ATF (when changing).
–  Remove adapter for oil filling -VAS 6262- from adapter for ATF oil filling -VAS 6262/2-.
–  Unscrew adapter for ATF oil filling -VAS 6262/2-.
Continued for all vehicles
–  Tighten ATF inspection plug by hand.
–  Start engine.
–  With the brake pedal actuated shift through all selector lever positions „P, R, N, D, S“ at idle speed, leaving the lever in each position for about 10 seconds.
–  Shift selector lever into position „P“.
–  Switch off ignition.
–  Subsequently inspect ATF level and if necessary top up → Chapter.
