Removing and installing the differential pressure sender -G505- for vehicles according to EU 5 standard (right-hand drive)
The differential pressure sender -G505- is connected to the measuring point in front of the diesel particle filter via a pipe.
The differential pressure sender -G505- determines the volumetric efficiency of the particle filter volume.
  Caution
The differential pressure sender -G505- is very sensitive to shock load and leaks.
t  Therefore the hoses of the sender must only be removed if the sender is damaged.
t  Furthermore there is the risk that the hose connections break off when the hoses are removed.
Removing

–  Disconnect plug -3- at differential pressure indicator -G505-.
  Note
Pull off the hoses carefully and only straight from the connection fittings. Otherwise the connection fittings of the differential pressure sender -G505- break off easily.
–  Pull off hoses.
–  Release nut -1- and remove differential pressure sender -G505--2-.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Check hoses for soiling.
l  If the cross section of the hoses is clearly constricted through soot deposition, the complete assembly part must be replaced. It consists of the sender with the hoses connected.
  Note
t  Blow out the control lines from the differential pressure sender -G505- to the diesel particle filter before installing (blocked or iced up by condensation water).
t  Pay attention to the tight connection and leaktightness of the hoses.
Perform an adaptation after replacing the differential pressure sender -G505-.
The work procedure for the adaptation is described in the „Targeted fault finding“. It is also described under „Targeted functions“.
–  Select the correct vehicle in the „Targeted fault finding“.
–  Press button „Skip“.
–  Press „Selected Functions/Components“.
–  Select „Drive“.
–  Select „01 - Self-diagnosable systems“.
–  Select „01 - Engine electronics J623“.
–  Select „01 - Engine electronics, function“.
–  Select „01 - Erase initialisation values (Rep. Gr. 21 - 28)“.
