Removing
–  Removing timing belt → Chapter.
   
–  Unscrew fixing screws -1- for camshaft sprocket.
–  Remove camshaft sprocket from the hub.

–  Loosen fixing screw -1- of the hub. Use counterholder -T10051- to counterhold.
–  Turn bolt attaching the hub out about 2 turns.

–  Position extractor -T10052-, align with the hub bores and screw in fixing screws -1- uniformly.
–  Release hub by tightening the central bolt -2- from the camshaft cone.
  Note
Counterhold pulling device with the wrench SW 30.
–  Remove the hub from the cone of the camshaft.
–  Remove cylinder head cover → Chapter.
–  Remove rocker arm support → 1.9 l/74 kW (TDI) Engine, Fuel Injection and Glow Plug System; Rep. Gr.23.
  Note
t  First release the two outer and then the inner fixing screws.
t  Mark the rocker arm supports to avoid mixing them up and to avoid having to perform a basic setting of the pump-nozzle units.
–  Remove tandem pump → Chapter.
–  First remove bearing caps 5, 1 and 3. Then slacken bearing cap screws 2 and 4 alternately and crosswise.
