Test lambda probe G130 and lambda control downstream of catalytic converter (AQY, AZH, AZJ) > < Check lambda probe ageing before catalyst G39 (AQY, AZH, AZJ)
Check for proper operation
Check for proper operation
–  Connect vehicle system tester -V.A.G 1552-. Start engine and enter the address word 01 “Engine electronics” → Chapter.
–  Select function 04 “System in basic setting” and display group 034.
For engines with engine code AQY
   
–  Increase and maintain engine speed at 2200...2800 rpm until the readout in display field 4 changes from “Test OFF” to “Test ON”.
For engines with engine code AZH
–  Actuate brake pedal.
 
System in basic setting 34        ->
2800 rpm    355 °C     2,20 s    Test ON
–  Engine speed is increased and the readout in display field 4 switches from “Test OFF” to “Test ON”.
For engine with engine code AZJ
–  Depress brake pedal and accelerator simultaneously.
 
System in basic setting 34        ->
2400 rpm    355 °C     0,70     Test ON
–  Engine speed is increased and the readout in display field 4 switches from “Test OFF” to “Test ON”.
Continued for all engines
  Note
t  This may take a few minutes.
t  The cat. temperature in display field 2 must be of at least 352 °C.
For engines with engine code AQY
–  Check period in display field 3:
Specified value: max. 2.20 s
–  Maintain engine speed at 2200...2800 rpm until the readout in display field 4 shows "B1 S1 OK".
For engines with identification characters AZH, AZJ
–  Check the dynamic factor in display field 3.
Specified value: min. 0.70
–  Maintain the increased engine speed until the readout in display field 4 shows "B1 S1 OK".
Continued for all engines
If the specified values are not reached:
–  Conduct a test drive in order to eliminate any residues on the lambda probe and repeat the test.
Comply with the safety instructions during the test drive → Chapter.
If the specified value is again not reached:
–  Replace lambda probe upstream of catalytic converter -G39-.

2300 rpm    352 °C     1,78     Test ON
