Removing and installing track rod for rear axle > < Removing and installing top suspension arm
Removing and installing bottom suspension arm
Removing and installing bottom suspension arm
Removing:
–  Remove wheel.
–  Remove coil spring → Chapter.
   
–  Release screw -arrow- for bottom suspension arm -1-.

Vehicles with automatic headlight range control
–  Remove coupling rod -arrow A- of the rear left vehicle level sensor -G76-.
Continued for all vehicles
–  For example mark with a felt-tip pen the position of the eccentric bolt -arrow B- to the assembly carrier.
–  Unhook exhaust system at rear and lower.
–  Remove screw -arrow B-.
–  Remove bottom suspension arm.
Installing:
Installation is carried out in the reverse order. Pay attention to the following:
–  Insert bottom suspension arm into the vehicle and tighten the screws by hand.
  Note
The bolted connection of the bottom suspension arm must only be performed, if the measured dimension „a“ between the wheel hub centre and the lower edge of the wheel house is respected (unladen weight position)! → Chapter.

–  Screw bottom suspension arm onto the assembly carrier and tighten the nuts to tightening torque.
Observe the marked marking of the eccentric bolt -arrow B- to the assembly carrier!
–  Hook on exhaust system at rear.
Vehicles with automatic headlight range control
–  Attach coupling rod -arrow A- of the rear left vehicle level sensor -G76-.
Continued for all vehicles

–  Tighten screw -arrow- for bottom suspension arm -1-.
–  Install coil spring → Chapter.
–  Installing and tightening the wheel.
–  Perform chassis alignment → Chapter.
Vehicles with automatic headlight range control
–  Carry out the basic setting of the headlight range control unit -J431- → Vehicle diagnostic tester in the function „Targeted fault finding“.

Tightening torques:
Bottom suspension arm to assembly carrier
t  Use new nut!
t  Tighten in unladen weight position! → Chapter
95 Nm
Bottom suspension arm to wheel-bearing housing
t  Use new screws and nuts!
t  Tighten in unladen weight position! → Chapter
90 Nm + 90°
Wheel bolts120 Nm
