Testing oil pressure and oil pressure switch > < Removing and installing oil pump

Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Catch pan for workshop crane e.g. -VAS 6208-
Removing
–  Drain the coolant from the engine cooling system → Chapter.
–  Remove the generator → Electrical System; Rep. Gr.27.
   
–  Unscrew screws -arrows- for coolant pipes at cylinder block and at engine oil cooler.
–  Place a catch pan for engine oil under the engine.
–  Pull out the coolant pipes towards the front out of the engine oil cooler.
–  Unscrew screws -1, 2, 3- and pull off the engine oil cooler from the cylinder block.
  Note
To provide a clearer illustration, the fitting position is illustrated with the catalytic converter removed.
Install
t  Tightening torques: → Chapter
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:

Replace O-rings.
–  Install generator → Electrical system; Rep. Gr.27.
–  Top up coolant → Chapter.
  Note
If the engine oil cooler was replaced, the coolant must be changed.
