Check hydraulic clutch control
Check hydraulic clutch control
l  The brake pedal return must not be obstructed by moved or additional covers (floor coverings).

–  First of all check the brake fluid level in the brake fluid reservoir.
  Note
t  The clutch hydraulic is connected to one of the chambers -arrow 2- of the brake fluid reservoir by the return hose -arrow 1-.
t  If there is no or little brake fluid in this chamber, there is a leak in the system.
t  If necessary, bleed the clutch control → Chapter.
–  Subsequently check the following components of the hydraulic clutch control for external leak:
t  Return hose between brake fluid reservoir and master cylinder
t  Master cylinder
t  Tube-hose line or plastic line between master and slave cylinder
t  Connection points (plug and screw connections) also in a non-visible area
  N30-10140
t  Bleeder -A- (slave cylinder is located in the clutch housing)
  Note
t  Symptoms of an external leak are, amongst others, traces of brake fluid below the gearbox or on the noise insulation under the gearbox.
t  Check the correct routing of the plastic line between the master and slave cylinder. The line must not be kinked or trapped.
–  Subsequently depress the clutch pedal carefully, at the same time hold the foot controls in five different positions for approx. 20 seconds over the entire distance the pedal has to travel. While doing so, a second person must check if fluid is leaking from the components of the hydraulic clutch control → Anchor. At the same time the first person must check if the clutch pedal falls through on its own while being held.
  N30-10138
–  If necessary remove gearbox. Remove slave cylinder -A- and check for brake fluid leak.
Observe that the supply line -arrow- can be separated on certain slave cylinders -A-.
