t  The charge-air system must be tight.
t  Replace self-locking nuts.
t  Remove oil and grease from the charge pressure hoses and charge pressure pipes and from their connections before installing.
t  When installing charge pressure hoses and charge pressure pipes do not coat them with lubricants containing oil, if necessary only coat with water (without additive).
t  Observe assembly markings on the hoses and components.
t  All hose connections of the charge air system with exhaust turbocharger are either secured with spring strap clamps or push-fit couplings.
t  Only use approved clamps for connecting the hoses → Electronic Catalogue of Original Parts.
t  Use pliers for spring strap clips to fit the spring strap clips.
t  For push-fit couplings, the following must be observed:

–  Release a push-fit coupling by pulling out the locking clip -arrow-.
–  Separate hoses and pipes without tools.
–  When installing make sure that the peg -A- locks correctly into place.
t  Before connecting the oil feed line, fill the exhaust turbocharger on the connection fitting with engine oil.
t  After installing the exhaust turbocharger, run engine at idling speed for about 1 minute to ensure that oil is supplied to the exhaust turbocharger.
