Replacing middle silencer or rear silencer
Replacing middle silencer or rear silencer
t  A separation point is provided for repair purposes for replacing the front or rear silencer.
t  The separation point is marked by a groove on the circumference of the exhaust pipe.
Special tools and workshop equipment required
t  Body saw e.g. -V.A.G 1523 A-
t  Protective goggles
  WARNING
Wear safety glasses.
   
–  Separate the connecting pipe between the middle and rear silencers at the point marked by a groove -arrow-.
–  When installing, position double clamp between the lateral tube markings on the separation point and install in such a way that the screw ends do not protrude beyond the bottom edge of the double clamp.
–  Align exhaust system in cold condition free of stress → Chapter.
