Removing and installing coolant regulator Removing –  Drain coolant → Chapter.

–  Remove cover for connection fitting, to do so release lateral retaining clasps -arrows-.

–  Release screws -arrows- for connection fitting -1- and take connecting hose -2- out of the guide.

–  Press in catches -1- and -3- and pull off connecting hose -4- from air filter -2-.

–  Loosen clamp -2-. –  Disconnect plug -arrow- from charge pressure sender -G31-. –  Unscrew screws -1- and -4- and remove the charge air pipe with the hose to the bottom.

–  Slackene coolant hose -2- and cable harness -1-. –  Unscrew screw -arrow- and remove bracket.

–  Unscrew screw -2- at bracket for pump for coolant after-running -V51-.   Note The pump for coolant after-running -V51- remains in the fitting position.

–  Remove coolant hoses -1 and 2- and lay to the side.

–  Unscrew oil scraper -1-.   Caution Risk of contamination to the lubrication system. Cover the opening for the oil with a clean cloth.

–  Slacken nut -2-, release screw -1- and swivel support for intake manifold slightly towards the right.

–  Screw out screws -arrows- and remove connection fittings. –  Detach coolant regulator. Install Installation is carried out in the reverse order. However, pay attention to the following: t  Tightening torques: → Chapter.   Note Replace gaskets and O-rings. –  Clean sealing surface for O-ring. –  Moisten O-ring with coolant.

–  Insert coolant regulator -4- into the housing -5- for coolant pump and swivel slightly forward -arrow-. –  Carefully position support -3-, to do so guide dowel pin -2- into the guide -1-. –  Screw connection fitting.

–  Replace the gasket at the oil scraper and tighten the screws in the sequence -1 to 9-to 9 Nm. –  Install support for intake manifold → Chapter. –  Install pump for coolant after-running -V51- → Chapter. –  Top up coolant → Chapter.
