Removing and installing the vehicle voltage control unit -J519-
Removing
The control unit is located behind the left dash panel on the driver side.
–  Disconnect battery earth strap → Chapter.
   
–  Remove the bottom part of the dash panel -1- on the driver's side → Body Work; Rep. gr.70.
–  Remove the knee airbag and its bracket → Body Work; Rep. gr.69.
–  Unclip the relay carrier below the vehicle voltage control unit -J519- → Chapter and unhook towards the bottom.
–  For unplugging the plugs -2-, successively press together the catches on the plug connections and remove the plugs on the control unit by swiveling out the clamp.
–  Unhook the pulled-out plugs towards the bottom.
–  Press together the catches -arrows A-, slightly tilt out the control unit -arrow B- and push out of the bearing in the bracket -arrow C-.
Install
Installation is performed in the reverse order, pay attention to the following points:
–  Insert the control unit and correctly lock into the holder.
–  Pay attention to the work sequence when connecting the battery → Chapter.
  Note
t  If the vehicle voltage control unit -J519- is replaced, the new control unit must be coded.
t  For carrying out the coding, the → Vehicle diagnostic tester must be connected on-line (network connection).
t  After the replacement and the coding (depending on equipment) the functions of the control unit such as „remote control for central locking“, „anti-theft warning system“, etc. must be adapted.
