Evaporative Emission Control Canister: Description and Operation
Canister And Purge Control Valve
PURPOSE AND OPERATION
The canister contains activated carbon as the medium which stores fuel vapors. The purge control valve is an integral part of the canister. When
intake vacuum reaches the specified value, the purge control valve opens and allows fuel vapors to flow through the purge line to the intake
system.
LOCATION
At the R.F. corner of the engine compartment.
