Check the input shaft and make sure that the metal piston ring is connected and apply assembly lubricant making sure to liberally coat the the
piston ring.

Install the input shaft assembly into the transmission case by gently rotating the input shaft back and forth to make sure that it seats. You will hear
a clunk sound when it is seated properly.

When seated correctly, the edge of the cylinder will be 8 mm (0.315") below flush with the edge of the transmission case.

Note:

If the cylinder is not fully seated and below the level of the transmission housing, do not attempt to install the cover. Continue to rotate the
input shaft back and forth allowing it to drop all the way in, making it 8 mm (0.315") minimum below the level of flush with the machined
surface of the case.
