PART NUMBERS: 53210-60A00 53210-60A20
These new shoes may be used for all earlier production Sidekick vehicles to reduce rear brake squeal.
During the brake shoe installation, the rear drums should be inspected for cracks, scores, deep grooves, etc. and measured for wear (inside diameter, out
of round, taper, etc.).
If damage is found or service limits are exceeded, replacement of drum(s) or machining will be necessary.
NOTE:
1.
When measuring out of round, and taper, take measurements in three (3) or more points around the drum checking the diameter (Figure A). At
each measuring point, check the inside, middle, and outside of brake shoe contact surface of the drum (Figure B).
2.
When machining inside diameter, left to right drum I.D. difference should be 0.2 mm max.
Please refer to Section 5 of the Sidekick service manual for further servicing procedures.
Please inform all necessary service personnel.
