Locate the center line of the catalytic converter outlet pipe and mark or scribe a three inch (3.0") line extending from the rear mounting hanger rod
towards the rear of the converter outlet pipe.

Locate the dampener bracket so that its upper edge is aligned with the centerline of the catalytic converter pipe and its outer edge is 3/4 inches
from the muffler mounting bracket.
6.
Secure the dampener bracket to the top of the catalytic converter pipe with a clamp.
7.
Weld the bracket to the pipe, placing weld beads on the outer edges of the clamp. Allow the clamp to cool before installing the damper.
NOTE:
The catalytic converter outlet pipe is stainless steel and will require M.I.G. or T.I.G. welding.
8.
Install the new catalytic converter heat shield and torque the bolts and nuts to the specifications as shown.
