Testing and Inspection for Swift 13L SOHC MFI Brake Booster
NOTE: In case of Antilock Brake System (ABS) equipped vehicle, remove ABS actuator before removing brake booster.
INSTALLATION
NOTE:

Adjust clearance between booster piston rod and master cylinder piston.

Check length of push rod clevis.
1. Install booster to dash panel as shown. Then connect booster push rod clevis to pedal arm with clevis pin and split pin.
2. Torque booster attaching nuts to specification of (a): 10 - 16 Nm (7.5 - 11.5 ft. lbs.).
3. Install master- cylinder to booster and torque attaching nuts to specification of (b): 10 - 16 Nm (7.5 - 11.5 ft. lbs.).
4. Connect three brake pipes and torque flare nuts to specification of 14 - 18 Nm (10.5 - 13.0 ft. lbs.).
5. Connect booster vacuum hose.
6. Connect reservoir lead wire at coupler.
7. Fill reservoir with specified fluid.
8. Bleed air from brake system.
CAUTION: In case of ABS equipped vehicle, refer to description on air bleeding ABS.
9. After installing, check pedal height and play.
10. Perform brake test and check each installed part for fluid leakage.
