(8) Check the switch clearance.

Standard stop light switch clearance:
1.5 to 2.5 mm (0.059 to 0.098 in.)

(9) Connect the connector to the stop light switch assembly.

2. ADJUST BRAKE PEDAL STROKE SENSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Connect the intelligent tester to the DLC3 with the power switch off.

(b) Loosen the 2 bolts.
(c) Turn the power switch on (IG).
(d) Turn on the intelligent tester.

(e) Reading the stroke sensor 1 value shown on the intelligent tester screen, turn the stroke sensor slowly to the right and left to adjust it to the

standard voltage.

Standard voltage:
0.8 to 1.2 V

(f) Tighten the 2 bolts.

Torque: 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75in-lbf)

NOTICE:  Do not depress the brake pedal after turning the power switch on (IG).

(g) Perform linear valve offset learning. See: Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems/Testing and Inspection/Programming and

Relearning/Initialization

3. CHECK PEDAL FREE PLAY

(a) Depress the pedal until a slight resistance is felt. Measure the distance as shown in the illustration.

Pedal free play:
1 to 2 mm (0.039 to 0.079 in.)
