EGR Valve: Testing and Inspection

INSPECTION 

1. Disconnect negative terminal cable from battery.

2. Remove exhaust gas recirculation vacuum modulator.

3. Remove exhaust gas recirculation gas temperature sensor.

4. Remove exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Loosen the exhaust gas recirculation pipe union nut.

Remove the 2 nuts holding the exhaust gas recirculation valve to the air intake chamber.

Disconnect the vacuum hose from the exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Using vise pliers, remove the 2 stud bolts, exhaust gas recirculation valve and gasket.
