5. Inspect exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Check for sticking and heavy carbon deposits. If a problem is found, replace the valve.

6. Reinstall exhaust gas recirculation valve.

Using vise pliers, temporarily install a new gasket, and exhaust gas recirculation valve with the 2 stud bolts.

Torque:  10 Nm (8 ft lb)

Connect the vacuum hose to the exhaust gas recirculation valve.

-

Install the 2 nuts holding the exhaust gas recirculation valve to the air intake chamber.

Torque:  19 Nm (14 ft lb) 

-

Tighten the union nut of the exhaust gas recirculation pipe.

Torque:  64 Nm (47 ft lb) 

7. Reinstall exhaust gas recirculation gas temperature sensor.

Torque:  20 Nm (14 ft lb)
