Rear Knuckle: Service and Repair
Installation

AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE CARRIER: INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)

(a) Install the parking brake plate sub-assembly and the rear axle carrier sub-assembly to the rear axle hub and bearing assembly with the 4 bolts.

Torque : 63 Nm (642 kgf-cm, 46 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL REAR NO. 1 WHEEL BEARING DUST DEFLECTOR (for 4WD)   See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Rear Axle Hub (for Double

Wishbone Type Suspension)/Installation

3. INSTALL REAR AXLE CARRIER SUB-ASSEMBLY (for 2WD)

4. INSTALL REAR AXLE ASSEMBLY (for 4WD)   See: Wheel Hub/Service and Repair/Rear Axle Hub (for Double Wishbone Type

Suspension)/Installation

5. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN UPPER CONTROL ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily tighten the upper control arm assembly with the bolt and nut.

6. TEMPORARILY TIGHTEN REAR NO. 1 SUSPENSION ARM ASSEMBLY

(a) Temporarily tighten the rear No. 1 suspension arm assembly with the bolt and nut.

(b) Align the matchmarks and temporarily tighten the adjust cam and adjust bolt with the nut.
