Support valve body and remove valve body retaining bolts, noting position of bolts for reassembly, Fig. 10.

Lower valve body slightly, remove accumulator piston spring, then install accumulator piston retaining plate using pan bolts to hold plate.

Disconnect throttle cable from cam, Fig. 6, then remove valve body.

Installation

1.

Connect throttle cable to cam, Fig. 6, then remove accumulator retaining plate.

2.

Position valve body so that manual valve is aligned with manual lever and install accumulator piston spring.

3.

Install valve body retaining bolts in proper positions, Fig. 10, and tighten bolts hand tight. Valve body retaining bolts are of different lengths
and must be properly positioned to avoid transmission damage. Proper position is shown in Fig. 10, with lengths given in millimeters.

4.

Evenly torque valve body bolts to 84 inch lbs. (7 ft. lbs.).

5.

Install oil strainer using a new gasket and torque retaining bolts to 48 inch lbs.

6.

Connect electrical connectors to solenoids.

Press oil feed tubes into position by hand reversing removal sequence, Fig. 9. Ensure tubes and sediment magnets are positioned so that oil
pan can be installed.

8.

Install oil pan using new gasket, evenly torque pan bolts to 48 inch lbs., and install filler tube retaining bolt.

9.

Install drain plug and torque to 15 ft. lbs.

10.

Refill transmission to specified level and check transmission operation.
