7. LOOSEN THE TWO BOLTS ON LOWER BALL JOINT. HINT: Do not remove the bolts.
8. DISCONNECT TIE ROD END FROM STEERING KNUCKLE.
a. Remove the cotter pin and nut.
b. Using SST, disconnect the tie rod end from the steering knuckle. SST 09628-10011.
9. REMOVE STEERING KNUCKLE.
a. Remove the two bolts on lower ball joint.
b. Remove the two nuts and two bolts on lower side of shock absorber.
c. Remove the steering knuckle. NOTICE (4WD): Be careful not to damage the oil seal, drive shaft boot and speed sensor rotor (w/ABS).
10. REMOVE SHOCK ABSORBER WITH COIL SPRING.
a. Using a jack, support the shock absorber.
