Injection Inspection

FUEL INJECTOR INJECTION INSPECTION

1. Inspect injector injection.

WARNING:  Keep injector clean of sparks during the test. 

(a)

Remove the union bolt and 2 gaskets, and disconnect the fuel inlet hose from the fuel filter outlet.

(b) Connect Special Service Tool (SST) Injection Measuring Tool Set # 09268 - 41046 (No.1 Union # 90405 - 09015) or equivalent (union and

hose) to the fuel filter outlet with 2 gaskets and union bolts. 
Torque: 29 Nm (300 kg.cm, 22 ft. lbs.)

(c)

Connect the fuel return hose to the fuel outlet of the pressure regulator on the delivery pipe.

(d) Connect SST Injection Measuring Tool Set # 09268 - 41046 (No.6 Union # 09268 - 41081) or equivalent (union and hose) to the delivery

pipe with the 2 gaskets and union bolt.
Torque: 29 Nm (300 kg.cm, 22 ft. lbs.)

(e)

Put the injector into the graduated cylinder.

(f)

Remove the center upper panel on the instrument panel.

(g) Connect the TOYOTA hand-held tester or equivalent to the Data Link Connector (DLC)3.
(h) Turn the ignition switch ON and TOYOTA hand-held tester or equivalent main switch ON.

CAUTION:  Do not start the engine.

(i)

Select the active test mode on the TOYOTA hand- held tester or equivalent.

(j)

Please refer to the TOYOTA hand-held tester or equivalent operator's manual for further details.

(K) If you have no TOYOTA hand-held tester or equivalent, connect the positive (+) and negative (-) leads from the battery to the fuel pump

connector.
