Connect SST Wiring "F" EFI Inspection # 09842 - 30070 or equivalent (wire) to the injector and battery for 15 seconds, and measure the
injection volume with a graduated cylinder. Test each injector 2 or 3 times.
Volume: 96 - 120 cm3 (5.9 - 7.3 cubic inch) per 15 seconds.
Difference between each injector: 6 cm3 (0.4 cubic inch) or less.
If the injection volume is not as specified, replace the injector.
2. Inspect leakage.
(a)
In the condition above, disconnect the tester probes of SST (wire) from the battery and check the fuel leakage from the injector.
Fuel drop: 1 drop or less per minute.
(b) Turn the ignition switch OFF.
(c)
Disconnect the negative (-) terminal cable from the battery.
(d) Remove the SST # 09268 - 41046 or equivalent.
(e)
Reconnect the fuel inlet hose to the fuel filter outlet with 2 new gaskets and the union bolt.
Torque: 29 Nm (300 kg.cm, 22 ft. lbs.)
(f)
Disconnect the TOYOTA hand-held tester or equivalent from the DLC3.
(g) Reinstall the center upper panel on the instrument panel.
On-Vehicle
FUEL INJECTOR ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION
1. Remove RH engine service hole cover.
(a) Remove the 3 screws and scuff plate.
(b) Remove the bolt and disconnect the RH seat belt from the front floor panel.
(c) Remove the 4 bolts and RH front seat.
(d) Remove the 2 bolts and RH front seat leg.
(e) Remove the jack and tool bag.
(f) Remove the 2 bolts and jack holder.
(g) Remove the 9 bolts and RH engine service hole cover.
2. Inspect injector operation.
Check operation sound from each injector.
(a)
With the engine running or cranking, use a sound scope to check that there is a normal operating noise in proportion to engine speed.
